The Appeal
The Traveller was the last of a particular craftsman-built mass market car. That carefully wrought wooden architecture also makes it one of classic motoring’s most distinctive, best loved and most practical cars.
These cars are so beloved that there are plenty about. But perhaps none quite like this one, which has covered just 17,500 miles from new thanks to a life spent within the confines of the Isle of Wight. It left the factory three weeks before England won its last World Cup and has had only three keepers during those intervening 57 years.
The condition is more than a match for the provenance. The pretty white paintwork combines with a bright red interior, all in great order thanks to careful maintenance and sympathetic renovation. The all-important ash wood frame is in excellent condition with a good varnish finish.
The condition is such that it has been on display in a showroom for the last two years. Whether you treat it to similarly cosseted time in a collection or decide to get out and enjoy one of the best Travellers on the market, this lovely old Morris looks superb.
