The Appeal
Often referred to as the ‘GT’ 200, this scooter is regarded as one of the greatest of all time. The TV 200 was produced to meet the demand of British enthusiasts, who sought a slightly more performance-oriented model. As a result, this is one of the few Lambretta scooters more commonly known in Britain as opposed to its homeland of Italy. The TV 200 featured disc front brakes, and a higher top gear for cruising on the British roads, amongst many subtle body changes.
Today, these scooters are seldom seen on UK roads, with tidy examples often being the most sought after from the Lambretta lineup. This beautiful 1966 model is a rather interesting one, as it is no doubt one of the very last TV 200’s to be produced. If you’re looking for a fantastic little Lambretta to tootle about on or preserve as a collection piece, this is the scooter for you.
The History and Paperwork
- First registered in the UK in 1997
- Just 1 former UK keeper
- Garage kept and well cared for
- Previous full engine rebuild
- Well maintained example
- V5C document present
- Invoices for engine rebuild and maintenance
First registered here in the UK in 1997, this TV 200 shows just 1 former keeper on the V5C and now shows a total of 38,480 miles on the clock. The first keeper was of course a local scooter specialist, responsible for preparing the vehicle for sale to the current keeper. Although currently difficult to support prior to its time in the UK, this mileage is believed to be genuine, with the overall condition certainly suggesting the same.
The current keeper acquired the vehicle just one month later and has since treasured the scooter, with no expense spared. Throughout their ownership, this Lambretta has been treated with a full engine rebuild courtesy of AF Rayspeed Lambretta specialists in 2016, upgraded components, and regular maintenance. Invoices for the engine rebuild and new parts can be found within the included paperwork.
As an avid Lambretta enthusiast, the current owner will sorely miss the scooter, which has been a truly dependable companion throughout their 25 years of ownership. It is only due to lack of use that this beautiful TV 200 now awaits a new home, where it will no doubt be enjoyed for many more years to come.
The Exterior
- White & Blue two-tone exterior
- Great condition
- Iconic 60’s Lambretta styling
- Well cared for example
The TV 200 truly is a beautiful scooter, balancing modern styling tweaks with quintessential Italian character. This particular example does the name proud, and presents itself incredibly well for its age today.
The off-white and blue exterior shows just a few minor chips and marks, in keeping with the sheer age of the vehicle. Fortunately, due to the flat paintwork used with these scooters, the vast majority of pictured defects would benefit from a simple touchup and dash of TLC in places.
The rest of the exterior follows suit, with only minimal wear to be found with grips, the spare wheel cover and various aged brightwork dotted throughout. Both wheels are in great condition for their age too, with plenty of tread left for the lucky new owner to enjoy.
Overall, this Lambretta is in excellent condition with only a few age related marks as you would perhaps come to expect. Minor touch-ups here and there and spots of TLC to counteract the signs of age will no doubt leave this stunning scooter in an even more impressive state.
