1966 Jaguar MK2

Highlights

  • Rare green interior, impressively well presented
  • Solid history file with authenticity certificate
  • Only two previous owners from new
  • Same keeper since 1991!

The Appeal

The quintessential 1960s Jaguar. There is perhaps no model that personified the advertising slogan “Grace, Space, Pace” developed by Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons to describe his fleet of production cars better than the MK2. To this day the marque is synonymous with quality executive saloon cars and so much of that comes down to the reputation forged by the legendary icon of the 1960s roadscene.
Lavishly appointed, well styled and impressively capable from a dynamic perspective, it was a firm favourite for the authorities, government bodies, and some less than savoury characters of the bank robbing variety. Cut forward to present day and the MK2 is perhaps one of the most desirable and collectible Jaguars in the classic car world.
In a striking green over green colour combination, this 1966 2.4 litre manual variant with overdrive holds excellent potential to become a true stand out show piece. Whilst it is entirely usable in its current form it lends itself rather well to a general cosmetic refurbishment to really do the car justice.
