1966 Jaguar Mk2 3.8 MOD

Highlights

  • Recent full engine rebuild and new clutch
  • Fuel tank, brakes and suspension also replaced
  • Older restoration that remains in very good condition
  • Factory correct colours and matching numbers car
  • Smart interior with fully restored woodwork
  • Just five owners from new and huge history file

The Appeal

The Mk2 3.8 MOD was the original super saloon, a four door sports car that was as at home transporting dentists, doctors and drug dealers.
This lovely example sports its factory correct colour scheme and comes to us fresh from a recent engine rebuild, including clutch. Restored in the 1990s and - judging by the way that has held up - clearly cared for since, it benefits from a recent woodwork reconditioning to ‘as new’ condition.
For enthusiasts of these beautiful saloons, this is a well-cared for example in the right specification and a desirable colour scheme.

History and Paperwork

  • Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate confirms despatch date of 8th September 1965
  • This Certificate also verifies that this is a matching numbers car retaining its factory colour combination

  • First registered with the DVLA on 25th October 1966
  • Original RHD car

  • We are told the car was restored 20 years ago and has clearly held up well

  • Significant mechanical work recently undertaken, detailed below
  • Woodwork recently reconditioned to ‘as new’ trim

The Condition

  • Older restoration in factory correct Old English White, which has held up very well
  • Good bodywork with clean, straight panel fit particularly across the doors
  • Excellent paint finish reflects the quality of the older refurbishment
  • The bodywork is very well kept, just some small bubbles to base of doors to note
  • Underside in good order although may benefit from wire brush and waxoil regime
  • This would help maintain the quality of this car
