The Attractions

One can't help but feel a certain respect for British thugs. They were certainly quite knowledgeable about cars. They preferred the more powerful 3.8L-engined version of the Jaguar Mk2 sports saloon to the more lively and elastic 3.4L-engined one, especially when fitted with the synchronised manual gearbox with 'MOD' overdrive.

We can only agree with their choices. It is the configuration still preferred by enthusiasts today, and it is certainly the first feature that makes this splendid 1966 Mk2 particularly desirable. In addition to its mechanics, this example stands out for its condition and elegant colour scheme. Resplendent in its metallic gold colouring - which the seller informs us is its original colour - and with a splendid interior reupholstered in beige leather, this is a car full of charm. The paint particularly highlights the unmistakable lines of one of the most famous and admired sports saloons of all time.

This Jaguar has spent most of its life in the mild climate of southern Italy and retains its original number plates and registration documents. The seller chose it for its excellent condition and absence of rust and ensured that it remained in top shape. He has also taken care of the mechanical part, maintaining it thoroughly and replacing the necessary parts. He reports that the car runs perfectly, with excellent compression and good brakes. The much sought-after overdrive also works properly.

We are told that this car is as enjoyable to drive as it is beautiful. It really seems like the perfect car to enjoy fun and exciting rides, allowing friends and family to appreciate one of the best sedans of the last 60 years.
