The Appeal

Ford played an ace with the Mustang. Not only did it cleverly create a brand new market niche, but it also gave buyers the chance to properly personalise their ‘Stang. That ensured virtually every car was different.
It is a theme that the current keeper of this pretty ‘66 Coupe has continued. The chassis number confirms it left the Dearborn works with the 289CI C-Code 200bhp engine, which it still has. It was recently repainted in the US prior to the current owner and is now finished in smart grey metallic with GT350-style stripes and decals. Clever details like the five spoke polished American Racing alloys, plus bonnet and side air ducts complete the purposeful makeover.
Inside there is a largely standard interior that has been recently retrimmed in the US by the previous owner and presents very well.
The mechanicals match the impression of the bodywork and interior. The car was imported in December 2023 from the USA by the current keeper and has received over £6,000 of investment since arrival. All of the work has been done by a Mustang specialist and includes a full rebuild of the automatic transmission, a new power steering pump and attention to minor areas identified by the specialist’s general check over.
Here is a chance for the buyer to capitalise on all that investment. It results in a very attractive example of these perennial V8-powered icons.
