The Appeal
Buying the historic Daimler business was all about creating extra production capacity for Jaguar. But it came with a bonus: the brilliant Turner-engineered 2.5litre V8 engine.
Jaguar wasted no time dropping it into the Mk2 body to create the upmarket 2.5 V8. Despite its many charms, just 18,000 V8s were built over seven years. Today these cars are emerging from the shadow of the Mk2. With their automatic gearboxes and smooth engines they make very comfortable and relaxing classic touring cars.
This lovely Old English White 1966 2.5 V8 would do that perfectly. It has been very sparingly used since a restoration in 2020 and comes to market in good order. The gearbox was replaced in November 2023, just a few miles ago. There is scope to fettle the burgundy interior lightly, but it is very presentable.
Usable and stylish, this is a chance to discover these increasingly popular Mk2 variants.
