The Appeal

Originally intended for military service, the Mini Moke was never to become an army icon - but certainly became a leisure one. With its perky performance and odd, squat proportions, the little car still managed to handle like a Mini while stripping the formula back to a true utility format. The Mini Moke, as a result, quickly found favour as a fun and practical car for both urban and off-road adventures.

Having been in storage for approximately 40 years, this 1966 Mini Moke has been meticulously restored and resprayed, bringing it back to its former glory. Plenty of cash has been spent bringing this little car back to the road, and has set it up as one of the finest examples we may have seen on Car & Classic.

History and Paperwork

Built in 1966
Originally based in Killin, Perthshire, Scotland
In previous ownership since 1980
Placed into storage as a long-term restoration project
Purchased by the vendor in 2000 disassembled
Overhauled, rebuilt and repainted
Plenty of new parts, all complete with invoices
Currently indicates 03,371 miles on a five-figure odometer

Purchased in a disassembled state in 2000

As a result the car is in excellent order with only the slightest signs of use

2 original wiper motors, reconditioned and fitted with new wiper blades and arms
All branding is present and correct
All wheels powder-coated and fitted with new tyres
Underside is exceptional
New Hood fitted made to original specification
Original Hood also available, requiring repair
Fitted with a rear fog light and reversing light
New front seats with fitted seatbelts and adjustable runners
Original seats available but requiring repair
New rubber mats installed
