The Appeal
The advent of the ‘restomod’ is a fairly recent phenomenon, but it’s quickly becoming one of the most popular concepts in the classic car community. For those craving retro aesthetics and an analogue driving experience coupled with modern performance and reliability, restomods make a great deal of sense.
Akin to the Porsche 356 ‘Outlaw’, or Alfaholics’ 105 Series rebuilds, this 1965 Morgan 4/4 is every bit the traditional sports car it was when it left Malvern 58 years ago, and yet it’s now quicker and more drivable than ever.
Thanks to the addition of a 1600 cc Pinto engine from a 1998 Sierra, a five-speed gearbox and a whole raft of further enhancements, this Morgan now boasts a serious turn of speed, making it the perfect choice for long road trips and weekend B-road bashing.

With the rebuild having been completed five years ago, it has since been used for long road trips, where we’re informed that it has performed flawlessly. For those seeking a supremely usable ‘60s roadster, we can heartily recommend this rather trick 4/4.
