The Appeal
The demise of the MG T-Type left a gap in MG’s model range below the larger MGA. When the firm noticed customers migrating to the Frogeye Sprite a plan was devised to offer a MG version of the much-loved diminutive sportster.
The MG Midget was positioned as an upmarket version of the Sprite and came to outlast it, evolving through various versions to stay in production for 19 years. The MkII model of 1965 stayed true to the original’s aesthetics but gained useful comfort features and a more powerful 1.1litre engine.
This delightful 1965 MKII is one of the best we have ever seen. Painstakingly restored by the current and previous owner to exact factory specification it is a rare opportunity to buy a show-standard Midget where someone else has put in all the work. It will be a treat for any buyer.

Summary
The Midget was many British classic enthusiasts’ first introduction to the enervating world of two seater sports cars and as a result holds a warm place in our collective memory. Fun, entertaining and easy to drive, it is no wonder it remained in production for so long.
Early chrome bumper Midgets like this immaculate example were delicately styled and are particularly sought after. This desirable MKII is one of the best we have seen and surely a concours contender at any show it visits.
