1965 Ford Consul Corsair Deluxe Automatic

Highlights

  • Restored in stand out salmon gold metallic
  • Early Kent Pre-Crossflow car
  • Well kept car in good condition
  • Lightly modified stance on deep dish steels

The Appeal

Where the Cortina was built for convention, the Consul Corsair was all about a healthy dose of distinctive style courtesy of that V-shaped front end. Which explains why interest in these very rare cars is growing.
This one looks very tempting. Finished in what the DVLA describes as ‘gold’ but is a more beguiling salmon metallic colour in real life, this restored car is largely unmodified save for some wide steels to enhance the stance.
It is one of the last of the Kent-engined, pre-V4 models and first registered in the UK in May 1965. It is the Deluxe model with a drizzle of extra luxury specification and equipped with the automatic gearbox that leans into the car’s relaxed, long distancing cruising demeanour.
Running and driving well, this spacious car would be perfect for days out with family friends, perhaps to one of the many Ford enthusiast events.
