The Appeal
Founded in 1949, Abarth forged a reputation for making small, everyday Fiats into seriously competitive sports cars and the name lives on as part of the Fiat brand to this day.
Here we have a charming recreation that pays homage to those quick 500s of the 1960s. Based upon a 1965 example and featuring a number of mechanical and cosmetic enhancements, this funsize pocket rocket really is a go-kart for the road.
The History and Paperwork
- Not much is know of this car’s history besides the fact it was converted to an Abarth replica some years ago

- The vendor forms us the pant was applied some years ago and it looks to have held up really well
- Besides the odd small blemish that the vendor points out, the paint appears really sound
- There are a few bodywork imperfections, but nothing especially noticeable
- All of the trim and light lenses continue to present well
- Underneath, the floor pans and sills appear in sound order so far as we could see and the vendor does not report any structural corrosion

- Fully synchronised four-speed gearbox
- Reportedly in a great state of tune with an Abarth sump fitted
- We note a rubber fuel primer bulb has been fitted inside the engine compartment
- A sports exhaust delivers a pleasing rasp
- The vendor informs us that it drives well with no issues to report
Summary
You don’t always need V12 supercars to have fun and this Abarth recreation exemplifies the simple pleasure of driving a small, lightweight car on skinny tyres.
