The Appeal

Nothing quite says ‘camper’ quite like an original Splittie. The Transporter's beautiful details, modest dimensions and nimble handling make it ideal for excursions down narrow country lanes and tight village streets. And its robust air-cooled engine grants it a mechanical simplicity that many modern vans lack.

Of course, one of the joys of van ownership is taking the opportunity to create something that’s a little unique and the current owner of this 1964 T2 added to its previous new engine and interior when it went for full bodywork restoration in Dec 2022. A Kawasaki Green paint job certainly helps it to stand out from the crowd and it remains in lovely condition inside and out.
