The Appeal
The 3.4 MOD Mk2 was the preferred choice of the ner-do-wells, the gangsters determined to outrun the rozzers. They preferred the 3.4’s sweet-revving responsiveness compared to the larger 3.8.
They’d like this car then. But it’s got its sights firmly on the other side of the law. It was restored some years ago as a neat copy of the iconic Inspector Morse Jaguar - where John Thaw had to make do with a 2.4 though, the buyer of this car gets the bandit-beloved bigger motor.
Since September 2023 the mechanicals have been brought up to the same high standard as the structure and interior. £9,000 has been invested across the cylinder head, clutch, carburettors, brakes and gearbox via a model specialist. The car has covered very few miles since and is said to be in excellent mechanical order.
A recent MOT underlines the condition. This is a well kept, well maintained and very distinctive example of the aficionado’s choice of Mk2.
