1963 Triton Cafe Racer

Highlights

  • Equipped with a 2007 Triumph T100 Bonneville engine and other modern performance parts
  • Constructed in collaboration with well-known custom motorcycle builder Roy Gilby
  • Finished to a very high standard
  • Built in the desirable ‘Café Racer’ style

The Appeal

Most with even a passing interest in motorcycles will have heard of a ‘Triton’ - a bespoke machine created by marrying a Triumph engine and Norton ‘Featherbed’ frame - which back in the 1950s and ‘60s created one of the most capable bikes on the road.
Since then, there have been thousands of Triton builds, but this one is a little different. As well as following the age-old formula of combining components from Triumph and Norton, it also brings together the best of the old with the best of the new. While registered as a 1963 machine and featuring a ‘60s Wideline Featherbed frame, it boasts a 2007 Triumph T100 Bonneville engine, affording this Triton modern performance.
Hand-built to a high standard and reportedly in very good running order, this Triton awaits its next lucky owner.

The History and Paperwork

  • Although two registrations are depicted in the photographs, this bike is currently equipped with the UK registration ‘AOW 209A’
  • The MOT expired in May 2023, although this bike is registered as a 1963 Triumph Bonneville, therefore qualifying for exemption from MOT and road tax
  • Build featured in ‘100% Biker’ magazine (Issue 193)
