The Appeal
Beloved of bank managers and solicitors, Rover’s P4 is a symbol of a certain sort of post-war British gentility. What those respectable members of society failed to mention, as they serenely toured suburbia, was that when their Rover 110s hit the open road, they were surprisingly sprightly.
All of which makes one of the final 125bhp 2.6L cars perfect for modern day touring and motoring. Here is a great example, a highly original, unrestored car in very usable condition. The patina is light and adds yet more character to this most majestic of motors.
It has had just three keepers from new. The first kept the car until 2000, the middle one for only three months to process probate and the current enthusiast keeper has owned it for 24 years. He has amassed a vast history file of maintenance using specialist workshops experienced in these highly engineered cars.
Recent work in November 2024 has included a full service plus attention to the brakes and handbrake. The car is naturally MOT exempt by age but is usefully supplied with a long MOT to November 2025. That adds reassurance that is further underlined by a recent service and attention to the brakes and handbrake by a model specialist.
