1963 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III

Highlights

  • Family owned since 1989
  • Known history with Johnny Tillotson, a 1960's Country & Western music star
  • Recently underwent a £1,000 service
  • Housed in a heated warehouse for the past 15 years
  • MOT valid until December 2025 with no advisories

The Appeal

Remodelled, re-energised and modernised, the 3rd iteration of the Silver Cloud would mark the ultimate development of Crewe's flagship for the era, and arguably the last truly traditional Rolls-Royce to their pre-war blueprint. Unlike the simplified, straighter cars that followed, John P. Blatchley gave the Cloud a curvy, distinguished and tall persona that felt distinctly traditional and regal.

Needless to say, the 2,044 Silver Cloud IIIs built have lessened in number since '66, and they've become a very desirable classic - especially as many of them have fine stories behind them. This palatial example, for instance, was reportedly used by the legendary Johnny Tillotson (of Poetry in Motion fame) on his UK tours, and since then has lived a charmed life. Since 1989, it's been with the same family, who have clearly cosseted it despite covering only 2,000 miles since 2005.

Solid, handsome, and beautifully presented, this Silver Cloud ticks all the boxes.
