The Appeal
In 1950, Jaguar's legendary William Lyons - the affable albeit autocratic head of Jaguar (and their chief designer, to boot!) - strode into Jaguar's marketing department with his latest headline for the company. Grace . . . Space . . . Pace. Three simple words that shaped the rest of Jaguar as we now know them.
Of the cars that followed, it's hard to argue that the Mark 2 perfectly characterised it. Fast, graceful, yet practical, this was a true sports saloon, with a light, airy interior and a curvy British milieu that set it up as one of the most elegant, distinct cars on the market. It quickly became a pop culture icon, and to this day is never far from an enthusiast's mind when thinking of a true Best-of-British classic car.
This 1963 car is no exception. Carrying the desirable 3.8-litre straight-six and a manual transmission, it's got the specs, the looks and the cabin. This ex-South African car has also benefited from its home country's dry climate, leaving a solid, largely corrosion-free car that's ready for its next owner.
