1963 Jaguar Mk2 2.4 with 3.4L MOD

Highlights

  • Upgraded to desirable 3.4L straight six with MOD
  • Engine rebuild during fitting with only 6,000 miles covered
  • Older restoration to high standard in Regency Red with grey leather
  • Very well kept car across interior and exterior
  • Recent new clutch, battery, service and brake pipes and hoses
  • Power steering was fitted in 2024

The Appeal

Racing drivers gravitated to the 3.8, but for real world motoring, ‘60s bank robbers favoured the sweeter-revving 3.4 Mk2. Those getaway drivers would appreciate this car - it began life as a 2.4 but now has that bigger XK motor, allied to the ‘MOD’ manual overdrive box.
The conversion was completed in 1991 using a reconditioned engine. With only 6,000 miles covered since, it is barely run in. The Regency Red paintwork and grey leather cabin are equally well kept, mixing with the extensive veneers to great effect. A set of Coombes arches to the rear add a dose of extra style.
The vendor acquired the car 12 months ago and has invested like a true enthusiast. The work has included a new clutch, new battery, brake pipes and hoses and a fresh service. All good news for the buyer who gets a sweet-running car in the right spec that is ready to enjoy as the weather improves.
The vendor says:
“The car is in good running condition. I believe the car is ready to be enjoyed and there are no known faults
“It is a lovely looking car which gets plenty of compliments. The limited amount of driving I’ve done has been a pleasure!! A comfortable car with plenty of power.”
