1963 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 FHC LHD Project

Highlights

  • Early 3.8litre FHC offered as part restored for completion
  • Huge amount of work already completed to high standard
  • Long list of reconditioned or rebuilt parts included
  • Rare opportunity to create your ideal E-Type

The Appeal

The enduring appeal of Jaguar’s E-Type continues to keep values high, which fuels interest in restoring these evocative cars. Renovating an E-Type is an opportunity to see one of the most beautiful cars return to life or specify your dream example.
Sadly those themes mean that finding unrestored E-Types, particularly desirable early cars, is becoming increasingly difficult.
All of which makes this car very interesting. A 1963 car that appears to be the 1,434th LHD FHC built - and one of the first after the run of ‘flat floors’ - it is a restoration project where a lot of the vital work has already been done. The photographs do not fully show the extent of the completed work but you can read the full list below.

For E-Type fans with the vision and enthusiasm, this is a rare opportunity to go wild.

The History and Paperwork

  • VIN records indicate this is car number 1,434 of the 5,873 Series 1 3.8litre LHD FHCs
  • Appears to be a LHD USA market car as speedo in MPH and fitted with whitewalls
  • It has the later floor patterns fitted
  • The VIN plate records the engine as a correct Series 1 3.8litre motor
  • Unfortunately at the time of writing we know little of this car’s history or maintenance
