The Appeal
The Mini Moke was designed for the army but found a market amongst fun-loving 60s buyers as a sort of British version of the beach buggy. In 1973 a small Peterborough concern decided to offer Moke-style kits to Mini owners who fancied converting their factory cars.
The first Mk1 Jimini kits were steel-bodied and 400 were produced between 1973 and 1981. Known at the time for their high quality, today they are an interesting, rare and little known footnote in the vast Mini story.
This beautifully preserved Mk1 Jimini has been lovingly maintained by its enthusiast mechanic owner who has reluctantly had to let it go due to needing an automatic. Its condition reflects his care and attention while the colour scheme leans into the fun-infused style of these wonderful cars.
Few cars deliver wind-in-the-air, four-seater thrills quite like a Moke and this looks like a great example of the rare Jimini version.
