The Appeal
The Mk X was the seminal car for Jaguar, that would go on to influence the future direction of the company’s design language which would last the remainder of the 20th century and beyond. With their sights set upon the American market, Jaguar’s new range-topping saloon was their largest to date and arguably also their most luxurious. As was ever key to the brand’s success, it retained sporting underpinnings with the E-Type’s IRS system and 3.8-litre DOHC XK straight-six under the bonnet.
Owing to their size, complexity and the high-quality materials used in their construction, Jaguar Mk Xs are challenging to restore properly, which makes this particular example immensely appealing, coming from twenty years of continual improvement at the hand of its doting owner. Returned to its original colour, retrimmed to a great standard and reportedly driving well, this charming Mk X awaits its next custodian.
