The Appeal
For E-Type enthusiasts, the earlier the car, the better. Here is a chance not just to bag a very early Series 1 OTS, but one where you can put your mark on its final condition.
Much of the hard work has already been done to restore this early ‘footwell’ car back to good health. It left the line 314 cars after the switch from ‘flat floors’ to the more durable shaped design. It was originally destined for Lebanon in LHD configuration.
The car returned to the UK in 1983 when a gradual but comprehensive restoration has been ongoing. So far the bodywork has been carefully restored in correct Carmen Red and the mechanicals and running gear restored. It has been converted to RHD. The engine has been rebuilt and runs at Stage II tune, the gearbox is a 5spd unit that will improve high speed cruising and the brakes and suspension are rebuilt and upgraded.
There is some work to do as shown in the photographs but the car is said to be approximately 80% complete, including the interior - and provided with a range of spare parts. For the right enthusiast, this is a project where the hard work and investment has been done and you can personalise the finished car.
