Alfa Romeo's 2600 was the last of a particular type of large, elegant and comfortable GT in which the marque had excelled up to that point. Given that only around 6,000 cars were ever produced, finding survivors like this Sprint '62 is very rare. And highly sought-after too - enthusiasts rightly appreciate the beauty, detail and smooth in-line six-cylinder of these evocative cars.
There must be barely 2,600 units like this left. It is highly original and unrestored, both in paint and interior, exhibiting a light patina that adds undeniable charm to this 63-year-old car. Throughout its long life, it has had only two owners, the first being a Swedish optician who kept it until 2016, when the seller acquired it.
The current owner reports that it works perfectly. He adds that this assessment is independently attested by the mechanic who maintains it. There is an extensive history file and a valid MOT.
This charismatic car is a pleasant alternative to a freshly restored car, retaining the character it has slowly built up over its low mileage of 105,000 km.
