The Appeal
The 2600 Spider was exquisitely designed by Touring for impact and engineered by Turin for long-distance open-top GT motoring. Spacious and comfortable and equipped with that lovely six cylinder 2.6L engine, these are wonderful cars in which to despatch the business of getting from A to B, regardless of how far that might actually be.
Classically finished in Alfa Red with a black leather interior, here we have a particularly good example. You can judge the quality from the paint finish and the way that the panels fit flushly together with even gaps. It is a factory-standard car with original steel wheels, three-spoke Bakelite wheel and that beautifully detailed dashboard.
The mechanical condition is equally impressive. The vendor reports that the car runs ‘perfectly,’ a point that is underlined by the long technical inspection certificate that runs to 2023. Recent work has included an engine service, carburettor overhaul, new clutch and clutch release bearing and replacement needle bearing in the gearbox.
With summer around the corner, this lovely car looks like a great way to enjoy the sun.
