- Registered as an historic vehicle - qualifying it for road tax and MOT exemption
- Rare and capable classic scrambler
- Exhibits a rich patina, making it very usable
The Appeal
Lauded in period for performance far exceeding the usual confines of modest 250 cc capacity, the Maico 250 Scrambler showcased German engineering at its best - extracting so much from such a small two-stroke single. These compact machines are therefore sought-after off-road bikes and the scarcity is such that you can’t afford to pass up the opportunity when one is offered for sale.
We’re delighted to report that this 1961 example is now seeking a new home. It’s in very original, usable condition, with a rich patina and an engine that reportedly runs very well indeed. Registered as an historic vehicle and thus qualifying for MOT exemption, this bike is ready to enjoy, so be sure to make it your next classic motorcycle purchase.
