The Appeal
While leaf-sprung Series Land Rovers maintain a strong following of dedicated enthusiasts, it must be said that they’re not easy to live with in the modern world. Objectively slow, challenging to drive and hard-riding, their foibles add charm for some. But for others, it makes sense to modify their Land Rovers and in so doing, enhance their usability.
This 1961 Series IIA falls into the latter category, retaining its vintage charm while incorporating numerous sensible upgrades. The vendor has expertly restored it, using a Range Rover Classic chassis as the basis for the rebuild, allowing the Land Rover to ride upon coil springs and easily accommodate a 3.5-litre Rover V8 in lieu of its original 2.25-litre inline-four. Further modifications include HD Wolf wheels, luxurious seats from Exmoor Trim and power steering. It's finished in a hard-wearing Raptor paint, so is the perfect candidate for off-roading excursions.
Save yourself the hard work of creating the ultimate Series Land Rover and be sure not to miss this fantastic IIA!
