The Attractions
The only reason Lamborghini's famous sports cars have come to light is because of the tractors of the house of the bull. According to the story that is told, the Italian brand specialising in agricultural machinery was so successful that its owner, Ferruccio Lamborghini, became a very good customer of Ferrari. When the sports car manufacturer refused some of his advice and an argument broke out between him and Enzo Ferrari, Lamborghini decided to start his own sports car brand out of pure spite.
It is a fascinating story - but many people do not realise how successful Lamborghini tractors were - which continued to sell in impressive numbers until the 1970s. Extremely robust, and equipped with truly remarkable features for the time, the 2R was sold in more than 2,000 examples during the 1960s.
This particular example from has been carefully restored, taking great care to preserve its original features. The tractor has been repainted in its original Orange and Blue colours, a striking combination that is sure to attract attention. The air-cooled 2,193 cm³ engine has been completely overhauled and now runs as it did when it first left the factory.
