1961 Jaguar MKII 2.4 (RHD)

Vendor supplied images

Highlights

  • Presents beautifully
  • Very clean example, in good condition
  • Prime candidate for a light interior restoration

The Appeal

The Jaguar MkII is nothing if not an infamous automobile. Famous for being the getaway car of choice for London’s gangsters in its time, this model escaped that life to spend time in France. Having been well cared for ever since hitting the road in 1961, it still presents in great overall condition today.
A very clean chassis topped with a stunning coat of paint, the interior does show some signs of wear and tear. Certainly far from disrepair, one can easily jump behind the wheel as it is and enjoy its wonderous straight-six and raw handling.
But it also presents a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking for a light winter restoration project. Indeed, the interior upholstery would make for a small job that will be ready for the return to sunny spring next year.

Summary

Presenting in fantastic condition, this 1961 Jaguar MkII truly is a looker. A subtle silver paint colour paired with chrome details fits the model perfectly whilst the straight-six under the bonnet does enough to power this saloon. The interior upholstery may well have seen better days. But that does not mean its current owner cannot enjoy the model for the last few months of sun before getting to work.
An excellent proposition for any Jaguar fan looking for a taste of the 1960s saloon, or one in search of a light restoration for the winter months.
