THE APPEAL
At the end of the Second World War, Ferruccio Lamborghini returned to his native Cento where he opened a small car and motorbike repair shop. At the end of 1947 he decided to build a new economical and powerful tractor made with parts from old combat vehicles, presenting as early as 1948 his "Carioca", which immediately attracted the attention of Emilian farmers, who were in desperate need of new agricultural machinery.
Mass production started soon, leading to the foundation of Ferruccio's first company, Trattori Lamborghini, which started in Cento in 1951.
Mass production started soon, leading to the foundation of Ferruccio's first company, Trattori Lamborghini, which started in Cento in 1951.
Many highly successful models were introduced in the 1950s, such as the first production L33, the DL30 with Benz diesel engines and the small, agile Lamborghinetta.
Launched in 1959, the Lamborghini 3352 R is powered by an air-cooled three-cylinder DLA 35 diesel engine producing 35 horsepower, the model number 3352 meaning that it is a three-cylinder version with 35 hp and two-wheel drive.
It is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission with high/low final ratios and a locking rear differential.
Produced in just 779 examples until 1962, it is particularly loved by experts, not only for its important role in the history of the mechanization of the Italian countryside, but also because, using the clutch from this exact model to replace the original one on his Ferrari 250 GT which he was not satisfied with, Ferruccio Lamborghini caused the wrath of Enzo Ferrari, starting one of the most renowned and heated rivalries in automotive history.
