The Appeal
Here is the kind of car that does not come along often: it has had a single registered keeper throughout its whole 65 years. We doubt there is another Mk2 quite like it.
Finished in factory-correct Mist Grey with burgundy leather interior, this 3.4L car, with relaxing auto box, appears to be highly original and beautifully preserved. Checking the photos is like being transported back to May 1960 when it first left the showroom. Even the registration plate is original. The signs of age, and they are all minor, merely add a light dusting of extra character to this loveliest of classics.
Despite very sparing use in recent years, the maintenance file records healthy chunks of investment that will clearly benefit the buyer. The work has included removing the front suspension to replace the crank seal and sump gaskets, replacing the water pump, overhauling the brakes and of course completing a full service. Although MOT exempt, the last MOT in 2022 shows no advisories. The car has only covered 250 since that test.
Here is an exceptionally rare opportunity to acquire a very early RHD Mk2 in a rare colour and one keeper from new. It is a really lovely car that we hope finds an equally caring new keeper.
