The Attractions
Often celebrated as a symbol of the 'economic miracle', the Fiat 600 was one of the most successful cars ever produced in Italy. It was a car with many lives - in fact, not only did the 600 soon lead to the Multipla, one of the first mass-produced minivans in Europe, but it would also be used as the basis for the hugely popular Fiat 500.
Compact, versatile and ideal for navigating Italy's narrow roads, the 600 was the backbone of Fiat's future and became synonymous with Italy's unique and extraordinary car culture. This particular car is a rare variant of the second series, produced for a short period from October 1959 to September 1960.
This car received a complete restoration in 2000, including a complete engine rebuild. We are told that it has covered less than 500 kilometres since then and has only been used for a few rallies. The car has been garaged and covered, which no doubt contributed to its splendid condition. The interior has been reupholstered with original fabric and vinyl purchased from Fiat, and the car has been repainted with the original paint, Fiat code 672. The result is a truly remarkable Italian classic full of character.
