The Appeal

If you want to add a touch of 60s style to your big budget Hollywood movie, or lend some cred to your rap video, you need a second-generation Impala. These big-finned beauties, whether in factory trim or low rider spec, are as intrinsic to American culture as fried wings and cola.
They are a rare sight on these shores, but a very welcome one. Just look at this one, resplendent in black with the sun glinting off its brightwork. It is a paean to Detroit’s excess era, a time when anything went particularly if it aped the jet age. There are many reasons to want one of these evocative machines but the exquisite detailing has to be one of them.
This car shows all that off to very good effect thanks to an older restoration in Texas and then the care of its current keeper. He acquired it two weeks after it was first registered in the UK. It is the desirable 283CI model with the beefy 4.6L ‘Turbo Fire’ V8, which is running at the more powerful 230bhp output.
It is a very well-kept car, as you might expect of one that has been used for weddings. The paintwork and bodywork are well kept, as are the many exterior fittings, and the interior is a lovely, inviting place to be.
This Impala is as much work of art as a way of getting from A to B. If you’re looking for one of these rare cars in good condition and great running order, look no further.

We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own  full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
