The Appeal
The MGA catapulted MG into the modern era, offering buyers a sleek, aerodynamic shape that has virtually come to define what a classic car should look like.
Good examples make excellent touring cars, particularly the hard top, all-weather coupe. Old English White over burgundy leather is one of the ‘classic’ colour combinations for these cars, as this pretty 1959 Mk1 shows.
Usefully equipped with the larger, more powerful 1600cc engine - further enhancing its touring potential - it is in very good condition inside and out. Two bulging folders of history dating back to 1959 attest to the care and attention of its four registered keepers. Their fastidiousness extends to regularly MOTing the car, despite this no longer being a legal requirement.
That MOT history, which contains few advisories, is a boon for the buyer. The current test runs to November 2024 and there were no advisories. This is an attractive and well kept MGA in the right spec and it is ready to enjoy.
