The Appeal
Times were hard in Italy following the Second World War. The country needed to feed itself, and that meant the industrialisation of agriculture. Italian tractor manufacturers were few and far between, and those tractors they did have ran on petrol - a resource in short supply at the time. That’s where a young, enterprising Ferruccio Lamborghini stepped in, developing his own agricultural machinery using left-over military surplus equipment, for which he developed his own diesel engines.
This 1959 3352 2R model hails from the height of Lamborghini Trattori’s success. It’s a very capable tractor, especially for its modest size, and is equipped with a three-point linkage and power take-off.
This example is exceedingly original and delightfully patinated. We’re assured that the engine starts “on the button” and all functions work correctly.
For those seeking an original, complete running example to preserve or restore, this would be a superb candidate.
