The Attractions
The Granluce was introduced at the 1957 Turin Motor Show as a high-end model, successor to the 1100 TV. The name "Granluce" highlights the large expanse of glass surfaces, a solution designed both to create an extremely bright and pleasant interior and to improve visibility. Around 400,000 examples of the four-door saloon version were produced, while this extremely rare Coupé version made by Carrozzeria Viotti was much rarer and more exclusive. Only 12 or 13 examples were produced and only four survive, including this one.
This car, which was initially bought by a Greek businessman and later used as a taxi in Como, has a very interesting and fascinating history. Its rarity certainly makes it worth restoring to its former glory and it is fairly well preserved, certainly in restorable condition.
