The Appeal
The Standard 10 was born into a post-war Britain where austerity reigned. With modern Britain enduring something similar, it seems a perfect time to rediscover this charismatic classic.
The 10 appealed to family buyers by using a ‘monastic’ specification to help hit a low price point. Today that approach delivers an attractive saloon whose pleasing lack of ostentation is key to its characterful appeal. We particularly love the simple, functional two-tone interior of this lovely example.
This car shows the 10’s unfussy qualities off to great effect because it was subject to a comprehensive restoration by the previous keeper a few years ago. The white paintwork is augmented by a black roof while inside there is a smart cream and burgundy vinyl cabin. Sparing use by its current enthusiast keeper means that it remains in great order.
A huge history file documents all this work and attests to the joy of owning these rare, practical and reliable cars. It is said to be in great running order, making it perfect for family trips to shows or picture-perfect picnic destinations.
The vendor says:
“This is a lovely wee car in immaculate condition, it is a proper head turner!”
