The Appeal
Jaguar only made 16 beautiful XKSS cars, production being stymied by the Browns Lane factory fire. Naturally, that handful of cars are now hugely valuable and, inevitably, little used.
If you lack the requisite £10m to buy one of those cars, and you actually want to use and enjoy it, here is the perfect solution. Few XKSS recreations exist, particularly ones as good as this and with the correct provenance. It is based on a very early XK150 RHD FHC chassis so it has an appropriate late 1950s DVLA registration and Jaguar XK description.
The trick with any recreation is to get the details right. We think even the very pedantic would struggle to take issue with this car. The bodywork looks dimensionally accurate and it has been detailed with correct Smiths dials, XKSS badging, folding hood and knock-off style steel wheels. Naturally it is finished in BRG.
The car has been in the hands of the current keeper since 2009 and covered few miles since completion. He stored it in a heated garage and tells us that runs and drive very well. As an older restoration it has a lovely, gentle sense of age. It would grace any collection but perhaps its best place is on the road being driven and enjoyed.
