The Attractions
After World War II, almost all car manufacturers began to produce cars that were affordable and within the reach of as many motorists as possible. BMW had no such car in its range: the 503 and 507 models were luxurious and expensive, and this seriously jeopardised the company's future. Who could have imagined that an Italian manufacturer famous for its household appliances would be crucial to BMW's survival!
Iso Rivolta launched his Iso Isetta at the 1953 Turin Motor Show and as early as 1954 BMW executives entered into an agreement to produce it under licence, even purchasing the equipment needed to make the body. The BMW 250 or BMW Isetta was so successful that many believe it saved the company.
This 1958 Isetta 300 is the particularly desirable four-wheeled model. It has been carefully restored to a high standard, repainted in an attractive red and white colour scheme and fitted with a customised interior in red tartan fabric.
