The Appeal
The S1 was the last throw of the dice for a classic way of building big, expensive saloons. The body on chassis construction utilised coachbuilding skills that Bentley would replace with more modern techniques for future models.
Built for four years between 1955 and 1959 the S1 gave buyers arguably one of the most elegant saloons in the firm’s history, its flowing lines blending stressed steel with aluminium opening panels.
Tailoring your new S1 to your precise requirements was a key part of the Bentley buying process and this 1958 example left equipped with air conditioning and power steering. In the intervening years it has spent time in California – including with the mother of a very famous actor – and more recently Moscow.
Previously sold by the seller – a renowned marque specialist – and with recent servicing, brake and gearbox investment, this majestic car looks ready for new adventures.
