THE APPEAL
Agusta, founded by aviation pioneer Giovanni Agusta and specialized in the maintenance and repair of military aircraft, after the Second World War, to react to the temporary ban of aircraft manufacturing imposed on Italy, transferred the technological skills acquired in the aeronautical field to the production of the prestigious MV Agusta motorcycles, becoming over the years the most winning European motorcycle manufacturer ever, with 75 world titles and unforgettable triumphs in every category.
The first MV Agusta motorcycle, the sophisticated MV 98, immediately victorious in endurance races, was followed by important models with larger displacements such as the 125, winner of the Tourist Trophy and the first world title for the brand.
In the 1950s, production of the famous Agusta helicopters began and, while the racing bikes went on winning seventeen consecutive world titles, the new 125 and 250 and the refined street bikes 175 CST Turismo and 175 CS, nicknamed Disco Volante for its sleek lines, were presented.
The 175s, the brand's first motorcycles with a four-stroke engine, were a real milestone for MV Agusta, equipped with a sophisticated single-cylinder alloy engine with a chain-driven overhead camshaft with up to 15 hp, an advanced chassis which used a stressed member engine as an active structural element of the chassis and telescopic forks.
In 1957, the AB version was introduced, with an 8 hp pushrod engine.
This MV Agusta Turismo America is the most refined version of the 175 AB, denoted by the front fender joined with a cast aluminum to the lower steering plate.
Completely restored about four years ago, it is characterized by a bold design of great aesthetic impact, enriched by its rare original license plates and by wheels and exhaust system in like new condition.
The mechanics have been completely overhauled and carefully fine-tuned and the brakes, suspension, engine, chain and tires are in excellent condition.

Sporty, responsive and with an excellent chassis, the MV Agusta 175 is one of the most important and desirable Italian vintage sports motorcycles.
