Subject to a comprehensive restoration in 2014 with invoices over £60,000
Displayed at Le Mans Classic in 2015
Oselli 1,950cc engine with a Ford type 9 five-speed gearbox
The Appeal
By the 1950s, the lightweight, top-down sports car had already become a distinctly British art. At the centre, of course, was MG - particularly with the introduction of the streamlined MG A. With its gorgeous bodywork and spirited performance, it was a dead cert for topping just about every sales chart in the business - and it quickly became a fixture of international export.
This 1957 example has been owned by the same individual for 43 years and underwent a comprehensive restoration in 2014 by professional international restorers, with invoices totalling over £60,000, a new engine and gearbox. The car has been fastidiously maintained and always garaged, which no doubt plays a significant role in its marvellous condition.
Displayed at the prestigious Le Mans Classic in 2015, this MG A is not just a showpiece but also a very capable classic driver. The car comes with a host of spares, including a full race screen, new aero screens, and bumpers. If you fancy getting into a truly great classic British sports car, this is the perfect opportunity.
