The Attractions

The Fiat 1100 was a classic compact family car without too many pretensions, but it managed to make itself loved by many drivers by proving reliable, spacious and pleasant to drive. The next step was the creation of the 'Turismo Veloce' (TV) version, which offered family men with a passion for sporty driving more power and more refined styling.

The 1100 TV featured a body redesigned by Carrozzerie Speciali Fiat and was equipped with a more powerful version of the 1.1-litre Tipo 103 engine, which offered 48 hp compared to the standard engine's 36 hp, thanks in part to the adoption of a Weber twin-body carburettor and a higher compression ratio. It performed so well that it won its class at the Mille Miglia in '54 and '55.

The surviving examples are therefore much sought-after and increasingly rare, especially in this condition. Restored 15 years ago, it was subsequently left unused and stored in a dry place. Very attractive in its two-tone livery with cream and grey exterior and blue and cream interior, it is true to original specification and very well preserved. A light patina, both inside and out, gives it additional charm.

This car has been driven very rarely in recent years, but we have been informed that it runs properly and drives well. It will need to be re-registered through ASI and CRS, but once back on the road you will enjoy a rare classic that offers a very rewarding driving experience.
