The Appeal
The Citroën 2CV is one of the most important cars in European history. Introduced at the end of the Second World War, the "Deudeuche" was a mechanically simple but highly innovative car, often credited with putting Europe back on the road. The free-running suspension was designed to help the car in agricultural environments, the general idea being to enable the car to cross a ploughed field comfortably.
This example was built in 1956 - a very early example, if truth be told - and was used as Citroën's designers intended on a farm for much of its life, before being placed in barn storage. In recent years it has been rediscovered, restored and now serves as a fabulous and much-loved testament to post-war classics.
