Highlights
- Desirable 150 cc variant, boasting 50 mph plus performance
- Benefits from a great deal of work during previous ownership
- Complete with twin seats, spare wheel and wicker basket
The Appeal
With the advent of relatively affordable high-performance motorcycles during the mid-1950s, scooter manufacturers like Piaggio and Innocenti were somewhat left behind with their 50 cc offerings. Scooters like the Lambretta LD 150 changed all that.
While they obviously wouldn’t keep pace with a BSA Goldstar or Triumph Thunderbird, the LD 150 could keep up with several full-size motorcycles boasting almost twice its engine capacity and price tag.
While they obviously wouldn’t keep pace with a BSA Goldstar or Triumph Thunderbird, the LD 150 could keep up with several full-size motorcycles boasting almost twice its engine capacity and price tag.
This delightful 1955 Lambretta LD 150 has been subject to a great deal of work during previous ownership. With gleaming paintwork, a wealth of period accessories and reportedly running well, this is a fine example. Be sure not to miss the opportunity to make it yours.
