The Appeal
The original Model 7 Dominator earned its name by utilising Norton’s powerful new vertical twin. But it was the 88 Dominator Deluxe that really explored what this motor was capable of.
That was thanks to its innovative featherbed frame, so named because of its superlative ride. But it was not just comfortable, the new frame was strong and light and so maximised the performance of Norton’s engine.
The 88 went through a number of name changes but in 1954, when this gorgeous example was built, was called the 88 Dominator De Luxe. That slightly cumbersome name differentiated it from the earlier Model 7 and reflected the comfort of that new frame.
This one has been little used since a very high quality restoration. It is in immaculate condition and would grace any discerning collection.
