- This car does have a V5 and is fully road registered, though showing an engine capacity of 1172cc
- It was built using a Ford V8 60, a 2.2l engine mated to an Amazon gearbox
- A custom radiator was also built at the time
- New brakes, tyres, steering elements, and an aluminium fuel tank were fitted
- The current owner has had the car for just under two years
- Within the paperwork bundle, you’ll find the usual V5 and some MOT certificates
- There are also some invoices from work carried out over the years
- It is now your chance to get behind the wheel and get to grips with its V8 up front
Due to the seller's current health, the Ford hasn't been driven for the 6 months and the seller suggests some light recommission/service.
The Interior
- Bespoke leather upholstery
- Period dials
- Competition feel
The interior of this Sprint Car replica is what you would expect from a race car, stripped back and minimal. However, this is not to say that it has not been handcrafted to the same level as some coachbuilders.
Its blue leather seat for instance has been hand-crafted to fit this bespoke space. The seat is presented in very good condition indeed with the leather only showing some signs of use. Hidden underneath this seat you’ll find the battery and some of the running gear.
In front of you, there is a bank of period-looking dials. By providing information such as your speed and the engine's RPM you will always be up to date with how your classic is performing. Between your legs is the gearbox, operated by the neatly presented wooden gear knob it makes for an authentic racing interaction in a car that is road registered.
This interior will provide a sense of occasion unlike anything else on the road. From behind the wheel, you’ll look out over the long bonnet through the car's Brookland aero screen. Whilst you travel through towns and picturesque country villages everyone you pass will be smiling and pointing at what a wonderful car you have. Not many cars can impart this level of joy onto people’s lives.
Vendor has notified us that the speedometer and rev. counter not connected.

The Exterior
- Aluminium and Fibreglass moldings
- Racing inspired design
- Great paintwork
- All the necessary lights
We bet you’ve never seen something like this wearing a number plate. From every angle, this car is a faithful recreation of a 1930s American Sprint Car, but with one added bonus, you can enjoy this one on the road.
Externally this car is built just as well as the inside. The body panels are a mix of both aluminium and fibreglass providing a lightweight body with the bonus of strength and rigidity. This bodywork has then been finished in a very fetching shade of light blue. The paint is in great condition across all of the visible panels.
The long bonnet has been partially covered over allowing you to peak at the V8 that lies underneath. It’s not only the bonnet that allows you a window into the racing-inspired design, dotted around you’ll find aspects that you’d find on the real thing. These include the exhaust pipes that run along the length of the body, the Brooklands screen, and four new-looking large and skinny tyres.
Overall, this car is in great condition and just like the day it was finished back in 2014. Wherever you park this vehicle it will always draw a crowd and it will always make everyone smile.
The Mechanics
- 17 stud flathead 2.2l Ford V8
- Amazon 4-speed gearbox
- Ford Model B axles
- Servo brakes
- Aluminium radiator with electric cooling fan
Now we get to the business end of this wonderful vehicle. Under the sleek bonnet, you’ll find a rare 17 stud flat head V8, with the turn of the key it fires into life, turning 95 octane unleaded fuel into an unmistakable soundtrack that only a proper V8 could produce. It was started up on the day of the photoshoot, it ran for a bit to prove there was no blue smoke present, it needed a bit more warming up to show its full colours, but the weather was closing in.
Be in no doubt, this car has been put together to a very high standard and you can feel this when you’re out and about in the car.
Overall, the mechanical condition of this recreation looks to be very good and ready to be enjoyed from the moment you pick it up. This car will provide a driving experience like nothing else on the road.
Summary
Well, how do we summarise this wonderful recreation? Quite simply there is nothing like it on the roads, if you like quirky and unique motors then look no further than this awesome vehicle.
All that’s left to do is hop in, start it up, and get the wind in your hair. Just think about all of those memories you will make in the future behind the wheel of this vehicle.
