The Appeal
Following the Second World War, demand was growing for motorcycles that could exceed that magical 100 mph barrier and Triumph’s answer was the 6T Thunderbird. With streamlined styling and a 650 cc version of Turner’s groundbreaking parallel twin, the 6T Thunderbird proved an immense hit, especially across the Atlantic.
This 1952 example is in fantastic condition, benefiting from a recently repainted fuel tank. Now fitted with electronic ignition, we’re assured that it runs and rides very well indeed, with a turn of speed still impressive by the standards of today.
