The Appeal

Charming, eccentric, and more than capable of putting a driver through their paces, the Jowett Jupiter proved that the Bradford firm had real mettle when it came to the track. You might not believe it at first glance, but the Jupter sealed a record-breaking class win at the 1950 Le Mans 24 Hour, a class one-two in the 1951 Monte Carlo, a win in the 1951 Lisbon International, and a class one-two in a gruelling four-hour endeavour at Dundrod Circuit. A cute, pretty little sports car it might have been, but it meant business!

Of course, the Jupiter was pricey - close to the much larger XK120 - and less than 900 are known to have been built. As a result they've become a remarkably rare, desirable classic. If the open-top British sports car is an art form, you could argue that the Jupiter was one of the great masters.

This fabulous car has been with its current keeper for some fifteen years, and they inform us that they've kept a regular routine of maintenance, regardless of cost. That lightweight, distinctive aluminium body is in grand order, and the car has won multiple awards over its lifetime.
