Highlights
• Original body and chassis
• Incredibly rare and highly desirable
• A demanding but ultimately rewarding project
• Owned by renowned Jaguar enthusiast as part of a collection
The Appeal
Designed around the XK engine and unveiled in 1948 the simply stunning Jaguar XK120 is an incredibly special car. Groundbreaking at the time it was capable of an astounding 120mph which not only made it the fastest production car in the world but also left its competitors, quite literally, in the dust. Highly sought after today the XK120 is quite the collectors piece, even in project form.
The History
Currently owned by a renowned Jaguar enthusiast, the chassis and body are located in Foggia in Italy. It was bought in Bulgaria by the current owner as a project, since no serious Jaguar collection is complete without an XK120. As often happens in life, one thing supersedes another, and the owner was presented with the opportunity to purchase a freshly restored XK120, resulting in this XK120 project being put on hold.
The Paperwork
Unfortunately, there is no paperwork present. The chassis & shell can however easily be transferred by private deed.
The Interior
A full interior would need to be sourced as part of the restoration.
The Exterior
The original XK120 Roadster body and chassis appear to be in great shape and are structurally sound.
The Mechanics
Shell and chassis only. All other parts required including complete engine and drivetrain.
The Appeal
This may seem like a daunting project to some but just think about the end result and the chance to own such an incredibly rare and desirable car. The Jaguar XK120 is a defining model, not just for Jaguar but for the automotive world as a whole.
It ensured the future success of the company that produced it, went on to be victorious in motorsport and is truly prized today as one of the greatest classic cars ever made.
This is an opportunity to own a piece of history, regardless of condition. Yes, it will require a lot of work but then anything that's truly worth doing is never easy. And boy, what a reward you'll have at the end of it all.
